High-end Equipment Manufacturing Industry

Wuxi is the equipment manufacturing base in China. More than 2,200 above-scale equipment manufacturing enterprises contributed an output value of RMB 611.22 billion in 2017, accounting for 38.5% of the total industrial output. Among them, over 500 are high-end equipment manufacturers with the output value of USD 11.9 billion. Wuxi basically has a complete chain of high-end equipment manufacturing industries, including high-end base components, aerospace and aviation manufacturing, electrical equipments, marine engineering, special equipment and rail transportation. A bunch of local key enterprises, represented by Lead Intelligent, Weifu Company, Wuxi FAW, WTB, Kipor have sprung up in Wuxi. Wuxi is an important R&D and production base for automobiles and parts throughout the country. A series of leading vehicle companies including Alfa Bus, SAIC Maxus and Huace Automobile, with the supports of famous parts suppliers including Daica Wheels, Weifu Lida, and Futuris Automotive have formed a complete automobile industrial chain.

With the settlement of Detroit EV, YOGOMO, Kawei, currently there are 4 new energy automobile manufacturers in Wuxi. In future, Wuxi will focus on the development of new energy passenger vehicles, buses and special vehicles and their key parts.

（3）General Aviation

Wuxi is gradually constructing its 12380 General Aviation Network. 1 is to complete the Phase III construction of Sunan Shuofang International Airport. 2 is to accelerate two Class-A general aviation airports based in Yixing and Jiangyin, 3 is to start the construction of three Class-B general aviation airports based in Huaxi, Mashan and Ehu. 80 is to build 80 Class-C general airports. Wuxi Shuofang Aviation Town has attracted several aviation industrial projects like aviation parts manufacturing, electronic equipment research and manufacturing, aviation logistics, etc. Global aerospace leaders such as Dornier, Pilatus, LTD and AVIC have settled and developed in Wuxi.

In 2018, 19 registered aircrafts obtained airworthiness certificates in general aviation in Wuxi: Jiangyin Huaxi Aviation Helicopter Airport has 2 aircrafts, Asia Express Aviation (Wuxi) Co., Ltd has 14 aircrafts and Wuxi Highfly Aviation Co., Ltd has 3 aircrafts.
