Wuxi is national fitness demonstration city. Wuxi has successfully held 2018 world fencing championships, won the right to host the 2021 World Taekwondo Championships, got the permanent settlement of the World Taekwondo Grand Slam Champions series for Taihu New Town, and received promotion of Wuxi International Marathon to IAAF Bronze Label event. Wuxi has built the first domestic intelligent sports industrial park and formed “15-minute Healthcare Service Circle” and “10-minute Sports Fitness Circle” covering both urban and rural areas.

Wuxi is the pilot area of National Comprehensive Reform on Senior Care Industry. In 2018, 26 society-run senior care institutions were established in Wuxi by people or government. The number of beds in society-run senior care institutions accounts for over 70% of the total. 30 intelligent senior care institutions are newly established.
